Our Story
Tenby Harbwr Brewery is a family-run business, and our story is one of passionate locals and a desire to hold fast to Tenby heritage. When you first walk in you’ll encounter an atmospheric taproom steeped in character, with a true sense of place. Not only is it a unique celebration of beer, but of Tenby Harbour heritage as well. The team behind ‘Harbwr’ have over 25 years of experience in the high-end food, drink and tourism sector. We have enjoyed long-term success with our foodie pubs The Buccaneer Inn and The Hope & Anchor in Tenby. More recently, we have expanded into Saundersfoot with The Harbwr Bar & Kitchen, which has fast become a front-runner in the area. Establishing a microbrewery was a natural and much-anticipated next step.
PAST & FUTURE
Our story started in 2015, when Harbwr Brewery blossomed from an unassuming building in Sergeants Lane. With a complete refurbishment, the premises kept a rustic charm whilst delivering the wow-factor.
The brewery is steeped in history, and has been designed to celebrate the rich heritage of Tenby as a seaside town. With firm historical roots, the brewery is brought right back to the present with modern brews, on-trend packaging and a dynamic team.
Hoping to grow on our success story, Harbwr plans to keep developing the brand and moving with the times. We invite you to watch this space, as we have a few things under our hat as we speak!
WHAT’S IN A NAME?
The Harbwr ale selection has a variety of names that spark the imagination. So where do names like Caldey Lollipop, North Star, M.V Enterprise and RFA Sir Galahad come from?
Very simply, in honour of Harbwr being Tenby’s first harbour brewery, these names pay homage to well known Tenby boats. They enable the brewery to capture a little bit of the wonderful friendliness of the harbour community, and invite them to be part of what we do.

TRY OUR BEERS
You can purchase all of HARBWR’s ales from within the brewery itself, from specialised distributors and all of the sister pubs; The Buccaneer Inn and The Hope & Anchor in Tenby, as well as HARBWR Bar & Kitchen in Saundersfoot. The ales are also available at local pubs, restaurants and cafes, as well as further afield in Pembrokeshire, in Swansea and in Cardiff. Not only delicious, but convenient; our craft ales and merchandise are available via our online shop.
